Yes. Conventional analogue phones can also be used for NetVoip, if you connect them to an appropriate adaptor. Several certified devices are available in our shop.
Can I also use other Voice-over-IP phones?
Yes. NetVoip supports all prevalent protocols. You can simply use your current Voice-over-IP phone.
How do I register?
In order to start using a NetVoip phone connection as quickly as possible, all you need to do is create an account by registering on the NetVoip portal and then ordering the required device (phone or adaptor) from our shop. The entire process, including shipping of the phone, takes about 5 working days. If you download the software client, you can even make phone calls just a few minutes after you have registered.
Installing the phone is child’s play, and because we deliver our devices pre-configured, you won’t need any special knowledge of computers or networks.
Does NetVoip work with every internet connection?
You can make calls with NetVoip using any broadband internet connection that has upload and download speeds higher than 100 kbps. If you would like to make two calls simultaneously, we recommend a connection with an upload/download speed of at least 200 kbps.
NetVoip works with all Swiss ADSL connections (with at least 600/100 or 300/300 kbps), cable internet (hispeed 600/100 or better) and all synchronous dedicated lines (starting at 100 kbps).
We do not recommend using NetVoip if you only have an analogue dial-in connection at 56 kbps or an ISDN connection.
Can NetVoip do the same things as my current phone?
NetVoip supports all of the usual functions available with landline connections, such as fax, DTMF tones, CLIP, call hold, call transfer, call forwarding and much more.
Can I port my existing phone number, so that I can cancel my Swisscom connection?
Yes and no.
Of course you can port your current Swisscom number to NetVoip. If you are an ADSL customer, you will still need to keep you Swisscom landline connection (including telephone number), as this is needed for your internet connection. However, if you have a dedicated line or cable internet (via your TV socket), you can cancel your landline connection and make calls using only NetVoip.
Can I use my ISDN phone with NetVoip?
Unfortunately not. NetVoip currently supports only analog and VoIP phones.
